The Parish offers Religious Education and Youth Ministry programs for children in grades 1-12.
Programs:
Religious Education classes run from the Sunday after Labor Day until the second week of May.
For Grades 1-4:
Religious Education Classes meet Sunday mornings from 10:00-11:00 am in the Upper School (across the parking lot of the Main Church. The yearly schedule can be found by clicking on the appropriate link on the left-hand side of this page.
For Grades 5-12:
Religious Education classes and program meets late Sunday afternoons from 5:00-7:30 pm in a Class/Mass/Youth Ministry Program format at the Lower School 6255 E. Mockingbird Lane – enter in BACK of the school via St. Moritz Avenue. Class meets from 5:00-6:00; Mass, from 6:00-6:45; Snack 6:45-7:00 AND Program from 7:00 to 7:30 PM. Students are encouraged to stay for the entire 2 and ½ hour period. The yearly schedule can be found by clicking on the appropriate link on the left-hand side of this page.
Sacraments:
1st Communion is offered in the 2nd grade usually in May and Confirmation in the 8th grade usually in February. Normally,the child receiving the sacrament is expected to be enrolled in religious educations classes in at least two consecutive years: both in the year the sacrament is given and in the previous year as well.
Our teachers are professional, degreed teachers paid by the Parish. Many of our teachers have full and part-time positions teaching in other diocesan and public schools.
Summer programs:
Beginning in June, we run a summer youth ministry program for those entering 5th grade in the fall to those entering 12th grade. The summer youth ministry program will be published in May before school is dismissed . (In May, click on the left hand side of this page to view the summer schedule.)
Service Programs:
We give students periodic opportunities to give back to the parish and to the wider community. Some of the things we have done in the past: volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul store, creating cards for nursing home residents, and creating gift bags for students at St. Cecilia’s school.
