2010 Lenten Concert Series and Stations of the Cross
Friday Evenings During Lent
St. Thomas Aquinas observes the season of Lent with a series of Friday Stations of the Cross and Lenten Concerts. Stations begin at 7:00 pm and the concerts follow immediately after the stations (at approximately 7:45). These concerts last approximately 45 minutes each and are offered free of charge to the public.
February 19
Michael Conrady, AAGO, in concert
St. Thomas' Director of Music and organist presents a program of musical meditations on the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The mystical reflections ranging from the meditative to passionate and feature compositions by composers of the 20th century, including Charles Tournemire, Jean Langlais, Arvo Pärt, and Michael Veloso.
February 26
Stabat Mater by Giovanni Pergolesi
Members of the St. Thomas Aquinas Music Department present Giovanni Pergolesi's Stabat Mater , a sublime meditation on the passion as seen through eyes of Mary, the mother of God. This beautiful composition will be performed by STA parish members Kris Lerner, soprano, and Jennifer Hendrickson, soprano.

SMU Graduate Student Organists in concert
St. Thomas Aquinas is pleased to welcome graduate organ students from SMU as they present a concert of Lenten organ music. The student organists participating are candidates for the Master of Music and Master of Sacred Music degrees and are students of Dr. Larry Palmer, professor of Organ and Harpsichord.

St. Thomas Aquinas Schola Cantorum Gregorii and Michael Lindner, Organist/Director
The St. Thomas Aquinas Schola Cantorum Gregorii, a male chorus dedicated to singing Gregorian chant, presents a Lenten concert of chant in conjunction with Michael Lindner, organist and director of the Schola.
March 19
The Seven Last Words of Christ by Joseph Haydn
The devoutly Catholic composer Joseph Haydn arranged a series of Good Friday meditations for string quartet that were each based on one of the "seven last words" of Christ. In this St. Thomas Aquinas performance, each of the seven meditations will be interspersed with readings reflecting on the themes of the crucifixion as they apply to our Lenten journey.

Northridge Presbyterian Church Choir and Grady Coyle, AAGO, ChM, in concert
St. Thomas Aquinas is pleased to welcome the Northridge Presbyterian Church Choir and Grady Coyle, Organist/Director as they present an exciting and moving concert of Lenten choral and organ works.
