St.
Jude Library is dedicated to providing educational, devotional,
inspirational, recreational, and reference materials to the members
of St. Thomas Aquinas to help develop a deeper understanding and
appreciation for our Catholic Faith. The library collections and
services cater to the personal, family, and organizational needs
of the parish community.
The purpose of the St. Jude Library is to serve the
Parish community by developing and maintaining collections of educational,
devotional, inspirational, recreational, and reference materials to support
the Catholic Faith life of its members. It is also meant to supplement
other locally available sources of opportunities to enrich and deepen
religious experience and knowledge.
The library collections and services cater to the personal,
family, and organizational needs of the parish community with an emphasis
on adult spiritual formation since this is the thrust of the Church’s
directives since Vatican Council II. In the words of Pope John Paul II:
“This (Adult Education) is the principal form of Catechesis, because
it is addressed to the persons who have the greatest responsibilities
and capacity to live the Christian message in its fully developed form.”
The collection includes books, periodicals, videocassettes,
CDs, and DVDs. The collection contains subjects relevant to the Catholic
Faith with an emphasis on adult formation. However, we also include a
number of materials dedicated to children. Our video
selection is directed toward wholesome family entertainment and education.
Patrons may check out materials in the library with the exception of specially
designated collections (antique Bibles, art works, etc.), periodicals,
and Reference resources. Loan periods for the various resources:
