| Troop 43 of the Boy Scouts of America
was established by the St. Thomas Aquinas Dad's Club in 1947, and has
continually served the young men of our parish since then. Presently,
the Troop is sponsored by the St. Thomas Aquinas Holy Name Society.
The Boy Scouts is open to young men ages 11 to 18. The program
provides opportunities for individual and group achievement through
merit badge programs, rank advancement and community service projects.
In addition, camping and outdoor activities are part of the Scout life.
Dedicated to promoting self-discipline, goal-setting and achievement,
personal growth, civic awareness and community volunteerism, the Boy
Scouts provides an environment in which a young man can challenge
himself physically, mentally and spiritually.
The mission statement of the Boy Scouts is this: "The mission of the
Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young men to make ethical and moral
choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the
Scout Oath and Law."
The Scout Oath and the Scout Law are the cornerstones of Boy Scout doctrine.
