On Sunday, March 5, Catechumens celebrated the Rite of Election. In a special liturgy at the Cathedral their names were read and they were recognized by the Bishop for all the study and prayer that has been part of their journey through RCIA. The Bishop spoke of the long history of conversion and the many different ways that God calls us to be his people. After the liturgy, everyone got to meet the Bishop and was given Steve Landregan’s book on the history of the Diocese. Congratulations to Don Clayton, Daniel Do, Joel Hurley, John Keehler, Lani Lin, Michael Martin, Jennifer Martinez, Bruce McDonald, Gini Oates, Matt Rea, Jenny Rogers, David Rosen, David Springer, Shawn Strohman, Angela Wright, Crystal Xuereb, and Jessica Young. We look forward to the Easter Vigil when these Catechumans will be baptized, confirmed, and join the Church.

The following Sunday March 12, the Candidates attended the Call to Continuing Conversion Liturgy, which recognized them for their journey and work towards confirmation to be celebrated at the Easter Vigil Mass. St. Thomas can be proud of having the largest group and the best attendance at this special liturgy. The Bishop spoke on the role of witness to this group. It is the witness of committed Christians that draws people into the Church. The Bishop went on to add how their witness to the faith and their willingness to make the journey through RCIA will be an inspiration to others and help the Church to grow and bloom in years to come. St. Thomas Aquinas also congratulates the Candidates on their journey and looks forward to celebrating their confirmation as part of the Easter Vigil.

The Candidates are Alandra Adams, Richard Ahn, Rachel Austin, Corrie Barto, Kelly Beckham, Ashley Bennett, Chris Brown, Matt Canon, Heather Carroll, Bill Clifton, Jenny Connolly, Joanna Dixon, Angela Falco, Kurt Fisher, Sean Fitzgibbons, Rebecca Foster, William Fuller, Sean Furrh, Craig Hays, Michelle Haywood, Norm Helgeson, Traci Hunter, Kathryn Idoux, Christy Jackson, Linda Jenkins, Ashley Kelly, Kelly Klotz, John Laack, Amy Leavy, Sergio Lopez, James Lorenson, Jim Low, Tammy Low, Julie McIntosh, Patti Miller, Marian Mohamed, Sean Murphy, Jenn Nabb, Mysti Newberry, Mandy Orlie, Amanda Pappas, Mary Perkins, Kathryn Perron, Rob Peters, Ryan Phillips, William Putteet, Adam Reed, Jayme Ritchie, Chris Rittenmeyer, Natalie Rosenzweig, Mary Sheffield, Andrea Smith, Mary Stagliano, Sara Staniszewski, Jaimi Storm, Paris Sunio, LuAnn Turrango, Tina Torres, Doug Wilder, Kevin Youngblood, Michele Zachman, and Karen Zaloumis.
