Back In The Saddle Cowboy Carnival 2006 is Successful Family EventCarnival Games and Entertainment Enjoyed by Residents of All Ages
On Saturday, September 23, St. Thomas Aquinas School hosted its 53rd Annual Carnival called “STA Cowboy: Carnival 2006: Back in the Saddle.” Despite an early rainstorm, the open-to-thepublic fundraiser went on as planned from noon to 9:00 PM. Co-chaired for the second year by Jessica Burrow and Molly Vaudry, who reported the carnival raised approximately $106,000. The Cowboy Carnival included Western-themed games, unique inflatables like “The Buckaroo Bounce House” and a Mechanical Bull, along with prizes, food, music and entertainment for cowboys and cowgirls of all ages. An estimated 800 Lakewood neighbors and friends joined the fun over the weekend on the campus of the STA Upper School.
STA Carnival co-chair Molly Vaudry says, “The STA Cowboy Carnival was the culmination of a trio of Western-themed fall fundraisers for St. Thomas Aquinas School that began with The STAmpede, a 5K run/one-mile walk held September 16, and Bronco BINGO—on Friday night the 22nd—it was a fun night of cash prize BINGO with great food by Kuby’s, Campisi’s and Society Bakery.”
According to event co-chair Jessica Burrow, “We are so grateful to our loyal community members who turned out in force for Cowboy Carnival 2006. We had an incredible group of food and restaurant vendors we really appreciate, plus our BINGO Night and Raffle were particularly successful this year. We thank our generous donors and underwriters, for their help, as well. When we have final numbers, we expect it will be a record-breaking year.” All proceeds from the event benefit STA educational programs and help provide student financial aid.
St. Thomas Aquinas School has educated students for fifty-five years.
