Engaged Encounter Weekend

What is Engaged Encounter?

Engaged Encounter is a weekend workshop for couples planning or discerning marriage. It is designed to give couples an opportunity to dialogue honestly and intensively about their future life together and is facilitated by a team consisting of a priest or deacon and married couples. Engaged Encounter Weekend must be completed within 90 days of the first meeting with the priest or deacon.

When Should You Register?

REGISTER EARLY! Weekends fill quickly, and you must complete your weekend within 90 days of your first meeting with the priest or the deacon. Registrations are accepted on a first come first serve basis via mail or in person at the Diocesan Chancery office. Late registration (those received less than two weeks prior to a Weekend) will be accepted if space is available and will require an additional $25 administrative fee.

How Do You Register?

You can download a registration form by clicking the button on the right. We suggest that you first call the Diocesan Marriage Ministry office (214-528-2240) to verify availability. Download and fill out the form and send it, along with your check, to the address on the form. Upon receipt of your registration form and payment, a confirmation letter will be sent to you and will include a map to the workshop.

Where And When Is It Held?

Engaged Encounter is held at the Catholic Conference and Formation Center located at 901 S. Madison. The workshop runs Saturday at 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. All sessions must be attended on both days.

What Is The Cost?

$200 Per Couple*: Includes overnight stay (optional), meals and workshop materials. ($100 of the workshop fee is non-refundable) For other payment options and other possible costs, you may check out the Diocesan website at www.cathdal.org.

*Late Registration Fee: $35. Miscellaneous Fees: Rescheduling/Transfers, Returned Check, Late Payment $25 each.
