Marriage Preparation Programs

At St. Thomas Aquinas, we believe that one of the most important decisions you will make in your life is the decision to enter into the Sacrament of Marriage. Because of this, we want you to be as prepared as humanly possible.

Your engagement period is a time of discernment…a time to make sure that your decision to get married is truly in God’s will. In order to assist you in your time of discernment, you are asked to complete the following four programs of preparation:

FOCCUS Marriage Preparation Instrument

(To be completed before your first meeting with the priest or deacon.)

Engaged Encounter Weekend

(To be completed within 90 days of the first meeting with the priest or deacon. Upon completion, your wedding date is confirmed.)

Introduction to Natural Family Planning

(May be completed anytime during the process prior to your third meeting with the priest or deacon.)

Avoiding Mr. & Miss Understanding: A Guide to Constructive Conflict Communication for Nearlyweds

(May be completed anytime during the process prior to your third meeting with the priest or deacon.)
