Saturday of the 14th Week in Ordinary Time

Greetings Dear STA Parishioners and Special Friends:

Today is Saturday of the 14th Week in Ordinary Time and the Memorial of St. Benedict.  Here is a link to today’s readings, as we don’t have a Liturgy of the Word on Saturdays.  Click Here for Today's Readings

Our video reflection is up and running now on our Facebook page.

For the sake of those who have just been added to the email list, you can find the video by going to our website (the link to that is in red at the top of this email) and then clicking on the St. Thomas Aquinas Facebook link at the top of our homepage.  You will then be able to scroll down and find the video.

If you don’t have Facebook, that is ok.  You can get to our Facebook page anyway by going through our website.

You can also find our Sunday live-stream 10:30 am Mass by going to that same Facebook page.  You can either watch it live or you can watch it later, as it is posted as soon as Mass is over.

Yesterday, I asked for input from some of you about watching our Sunday live-stream Mass from home.  I got a beautiful email from dear Mary Gilhooly, who is now living at C.C. Young.

C.C. Young has been very strict about their lockdown, which has been very good for their residents from the perspective of protecting them from the virus.  You can imagine, however, their desire for outside contact, and it appears that our live-stream Mass has been just that for her.

She said in part:  “I answer the prayers aloud.  After these weeks of doing so, I am no longer embarrassed by my lone voice echoing in my space.  Because a singing voice is something I hope to have in the next life, I have given Lauren and Dave my proxy for singing.  They are splendid!”

Thank you, Mary, for these words (and those other words that I did not include in this email).  We are so glad you have been blessed by the Masses.  And, who knows, maybe someone down the hall from you has been touched by your lone voice coming out of your room praising the Lord.

I would love to hear from others of you. (By the way, I won’t put your quotes in these emails unless you give me permission…which Mary did.)

Masses for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week are filled up.  As of this writing early this Saturday morning, there is 1 slot available next Friday.  I would just encourage you to keep checking if you are looking to find a seat, as there are usually cancellations.

So, we hope you will stay blessed and stay safe.

Your servant in Christ,

Deacon Ken
