Tuesday of the 26th Week in Ordinary Time...The Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael

Greetings Dear STA Parishioners and Special Friends:

Welcome to Tuesday of the 26th Week in Ordinary Time.  Today is the Feast of Saints Michael,  Gabriel, and Raphael.  They are the 3 Archangels identified in the Scriptures.

You can find the readings for today if you Click Here for Today's Readings .  (There is an optional reading for the 1st Reading today, and the one that I used today is the reading from Daniel.)

Our Liturgy of the Word for today is up and running and I encourage you to go to our Facebook page and view that video.

Yours truly is the celebrant and the homilist today.  At the end of the Liturgy of the Word, we will pray a special prayer to each of those saints.  Those prayers are inserted below.  The reflection today is the prayer to Our Guardian Angels (we usually pray that on Thursdays, but it seemed appropriate for today.)

Regarding our Sunday Masses…sign ups are coming in steadily for the Sunday Masses, so  you might want to hop on it pretty quickly to make sure you have a slot.  You can Click Here to Sign Up for Sunday Mass .

There are plenty of seats left for Weekday Masses this week, so Click Here to Sign Up for Weekday Masses .

Blessings to all.

Your servant in Christ,

Deacon Ken

Here are the prayers to the 3 saints that we will pray at the end of the Liturgy of the Word, and I invite you to pray them with me

"Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen."

Blessed Saint Gabriel, Archangel We beseech you to intercede for us at the throne of divine mercy: As you announced the mystery of the Incarnation to Mary, so through your prayers may we receive strength of faith and courage of spirit, and thus find favor with God and redemption through Christ Our Lord. May we sing the praise of God our Savior with the angels and saints in heaven forever and ever. Amen.

Glorious Archangel St. Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide of those who journey by land or sea or air, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners. I beg you, assist me in all my needs and in all the sufferings of this life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels. Because you are the “medicine of God” I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities of my soul and the ills that afflict my body. I especially ask of you the favor (here mention your special intention), and the great grace of purity to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
