Our Vacation Bible School (VBS) program, so wonderfully run by STAMA, is a major effort. It requires a great deal of advance planning, preparation and expenditure, months before opening day.
There is much uncertainty in our current circumstances regarding the pandemic we are experiencing. We are asked to shelter-at-home and diligently to follow the important precautions of social distancing to curtail the spread of COVID-19. Other, even more intense precautions may be asked of us.
This is for us all a life changing moment and a moment for putting our priorities and the safety and good of one another in the forefront of our minds and choices.
Our shelter-in-place status is scheduled to continue until 30 April and there seems to be the serious possibility that it could be extended, into May or perhaps even beyond.
Like all of you, I am most concerned with the safety of our children, our families and seniors and our volunteers, our neighborhood and our city.
It is with all of this in mind that I have asked STAMA to cancel VBS 2020. It is my hope that some point in the summer when all of this has been brought to a good resolution and we healthily return to much more normal activities, that we will be able to have a series of events to bring families together - to celebrate our community the love of our families and the strength of our faith in our loving God.
Thank you for your understanding. Please pray for one another and let us support one another as best we are all able in this time.
Please stay home, stay safe and stay healthy and may all of you have a blessed celebration of the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter.
We just want to say THANK YOU to all the 2020 VBS volunteers! We were just gearing up for another exciting VBS and we know it would have been incredibly successful because of you.
We look forward to having you help us for VBS in Summer 2021! May God Bless you and your families.
