Monsignor John T. Gulczynski Endowment Trust Fund
Monsignor John T. Gulczynski, the founding pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and School, established an Endowment Trust Fund in 1982 to provide an ongoing investment to enhance educational experiences of our School and Parish.
Since it’s beginning, the Endowment Trust Fund — using only its interest income — has funded a multitude of educational enhancements; computer labs, software, science labs, art kilns, Grade level reading programs, audio visual equipment, classroom materials, reference books, and other enhancements totaling over $200,000, averaging $19,000+ per year over the last 5 years.
The Endowment Trust Fund has grown into over a million dollar investment. Over the years, contributions have been from many parishioners and friends who want their donation to be more than a “budgeted item” for the year; but as an ongoing investment for the school and parish. Various ways to contribute:
- Yearly direct donations
- Memorials from families, living and departed,
- Specifically designated gifts to the Gap Drive (Annual Fund),
- Bequeaths from family estate planning
The Endowment Trust Fund is structured as a separate Trust according to current charity Trust laws in the State of Texas and is separate from any other investments within St. Thomas Aquinas parish and from the Catholic Diocese of Dallas. As only a portion of the annual income earned can be spent on enhancements during the year, as recommended by an Advisory Board, the balance is re-invested into the Trust.
A Board of Trustees oversees the operation of the Trust and the investments of the Trust are managed by a multi billion dollar investment Trust company.
If you would like to contribute directly to the Endowment Fund, checks should be made out to MJTG Endowment Fund and mailed to the rectory at 6306 Kenwood Ave, Dallas, Texas, 75214.
The Endowment Fund continues to grow from your contributions. If you would like to speak with someone concerning an investment, please call the Church office at 214-821-3360. A Trustee will return your call to assist you.
