Cantors have proclaimed the Word of God in song from the beginning of Judeo-Christian worship. A present-day cantor at St. Thomas Aquinas is a person of faith, possessed of a pleasant voice, who leads the congregation in chant and song. Cantors lead at the Sunday masses at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., as well as at liturgies for Holy Days and other special occasions. Requirements include the ability to read and prepare music on one's own, as well as reliability and punctuality. Membership in the St. Thomas Aquinas adult choirs is preferred.
If you are interested in joining the cantor ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas, please contact Michael Conrady, Director of Music.
